FAQs
Is the camping box for the compact car weatherproof?
Yes – the veneer plywood panels (birch multiplex) of the camping conversion for the compact car are not only coated to worktop quality and therefore extremely durable and easy to care for, but are also bonded with waterproof glue.
In addition, we use corrosion-resistant aluminum, which is finished with an easy-care powder coating. Due to technical reasons, the heavy-duty drawer slides of the trunk extension in the station wagon are made of steel and are corrosion-resistant galvanized.
All in all, the camping box for the trunk of the station wagon is therefore weatherproof and designed for permanent use.
What is the maximum weight I can load into the camping box for the compact car?
The Squiq-Traveler Mini is quite robust. The first trunk extension can be loaded with 160 kg. The second trunk extension can be extended with a load capacity of 60 kg. Keep in mind that the second trunk extension is supported by the first, along with any camping boxes inside the compact car.
Are modifications to the bodywork necessary for installing a camping box in a compact car?
No – only the existing luggage securing straps in the vehicle are used for attachment: Camping conversion in a compact car is suitable for everyday use. Thanks to the modular camping box for the trunk, the bodywork remains completely unchanged, and you can remove the trunk extension from your compact car at any time.
Do I need any special tools to attach the camping box to the compact car?
No – pre-made tension straps are included for securing the roof tent. Simply hook the strap into the existing luggage securing points in your compact car, tighten it with the ratchet – and your camping box is securely in place. Each of the two tension straps is certified for a total tensile load of 800 kg. It's incredibly easy and requires no permanent camper conversion – ideal if you want to transform your compact car into a camper with a roof tent without making any permanent modifications to your vehicle.
