    Is the camping box for the station wagon weatherproof?

    Yes – the camper conversion for the van is built for the outdoors: the frame is made of corrosion-resistant, powder-coated aluminum, while the heavy-duty extensions are made of galvanized steel. The panels of the camping box (birch multiplex) are glued waterproof and CPL-coated to worktop quality – getting wet is not a problem.

    Only permanently standing moisture doesn’t agree with the wood: after rain, dry it briefly, especially at edges and cutouts, and store the camping box dry. Hot items belong on a coaster – that way the work surface stays looking good for many seasons.
    What is the maximum weight I can load into the camping box for the station wagon?

    The Traveler can take quite a lot. The first trunk extension can hold up to 160 kg – evenly distributed as a surface load. The second trunk extension can hold up to 60 kg when extended – retracted, more is no problem. Please note that the second trunk extension, together with the camping boxes, is supported by the first trunk extension in the van.
    Are any modifications to the bodywork necessary for installing a camping box in a station wagon?

    No – only the existing luggage securing straps in the vehicle are used for attachment: Camping conversion in an estate car suitable for everyday use. Thanks to the modular camping box for the estate car's trunk, the bodywork remains completely unchanged, and you can remove the trunk extension at any time.
    Do I need special tools to attach the camping box to the station wagon?

    No – pre-assembled tension straps are supplied directly for fastening. Simply hook the tension strap into the existing luggage securing loops in your van, tighten it with the ratchet – and your camping box is already sitting securely in place in your van. Each of the two tension straps is certified to EN 12195-2 (400 daN per hook). Important: fasten the Traveler at the lashing points specified in your vehicle’s manual (at least 4) – whether your trunk has matching eyelets is shown by our Compatibility Check; if in doubt, a specialist workshop can retrofit load-rated points for you. The whole thing works effortlessly and entirely without a permanent camper conversion of your van – ideal if you want to turn your van into a camper without permanently modifying your car.
