Is the camping box for the high-roof station wagon weatherproof?
Yes – the birch plywood panels used in the camper conversion for the high-roof van are not only coated with worktop-quality material, making them extremely durable and easy to clean, but also bonded with waterproof adhesive. In addition, we use corrosion-resistant aluminum finished with an easy-care powder coating.
The heavy-duty drawer slides of the trunk extension in the high-roof station wagon are made of steel for technical reasons and are corrosion-resistant galvanized. All in all, this makes the camping box for the high-roof station wagon weatherproof and designed for continuous use.
What is the maximum weight that can be loaded into a camping box for a high-roof station wagon?
The camping box in the high-roof station wagon and van is quite sturdy. The first drawer can be loaded with 160 kg. The second drawer can be extended with a load of 60 kg. Note that the second drawer is supported by the first.
Are modifications to the vehicle necessary for installing a camping box in a high-roof station wagon?
No – only the existing luggage securing straps in the vehicle are used for attachment. A permanent camper conversion in the high-roof van is therefore not necessary. Thanks to the modular camping box for the high-roof van, the bodywork remains completely unchanged, and you can remove the entire camping box from the van at any time.
Do I need special tools to attach the camping box to the high-roof station wagon?
No – pre-made tension straps are included for securing the box. Simply hook the tension strap into the existing luggage securing loops in your high-roof van, tighten it with the ratchet – and your camping box will be securely in place.
Each of the two tie-down straps is certified for a total tensile load of 800 kg. The whole process is incredibly easy and requires no permanent conversion of your high-roof van – ideal if you want to convert your van into a camper without making any permanent changes.
