Measuring your boot

With so many vehicle variants out there, we can't tell across the board whether your car is compatible.

1. Does your car have the necessary anchor points?

The rear anchor points are essential.
They should sit no more than 5 cm above the boot's loading sill.
The supplied ratchet straps have a hook at each end – just hook them into your car's standard luggage lashing eyes, then tighten the strap with the ratchet.

It's definitely worth removing it – that way the space under the pull-out becomes usable too.
Of course, you can also leave the false floor in place.
Either way, make sure the boot floor is stable enough. When extended, the pull-out's weight is multiplied by leverage and should be transferred directly into the car body.
You can compensate for the height difference to the loading sill using the Traveler's height-adjustable feet (up to 18 cm).

You'll need a folding rule, a large cardboard box and a bit of tape – let's go.

Because the gap between the rear seats and the tailgate usually narrows towards the top, measure 23 cm above the boot's loading sill.
The easiest way is to fold down part of the rear bench and place a marker (e.g. masking tape) on the tailgate and rear seat.

Because of the shape of the tailgate, this part gets a little tricky – but don't worry, you've got this!
For the boot to still close with the camping boxes mounted on the pull-out, you need some clearance between the outer corners of the boxes and the sloping tailgate. Here's the easiest way:
Determine the vertical axis of an outer corner of the box ??? Easy:

Use the largest possible right-angled box (cardboard) to help. (We prefer to use two carpenter's squares taped together.) Place it on the boot floor so that one corner sits on the point you marked earlier.
Along the vertical edge, measure the distance between the loading sill and the tailgate / window.

To make sure the camping boxes' side flaps open fully when the Traveler is extended and can be used as an extra work surface, check one last measurement: the distance between the pull-out's front edge and the rear edge of the tail light.
To do this, measure 3 cm back from the inner face of the closed tailgate and mark the point on the boot floor with a piece of masking tape. This is roughly where the front edge of the pull-out will sit later.
Measure the distance from that point to the rear edge of the tail light.
The same measurement applies to all models.
